What is the internet actually for?

An "Ex" friend of mine once said, "The whole point of the internet is to get stuff for free." I'm inclined to agree with him. If I didn't get free stuff on the internet it wouldn't be worth being connected... Well apart from a couple of things. I feel this more strongly because I have "Mobile Broadband," and it's pay as you go, and even the cheapest providers charge a stupid amount of money for a tiny bit of usage. Personally I pay £25.00 for 7 gigs. The newest (I think it's the newest) deal on a contract from my provider is £15.00 a month for 15 gigs, which in the world of "Mobile Broadband" is pretty good I suppose; but when you compare it to what people with a landline connection get (I think it's something stupid like 100 - 200 gigs a month for about £15.00 and they get their T.V and phone service thrown in with that), it bites. I would get a contract if I could, but I can't. Basicly because I'm not well off. So people that are better off than me are able to get the same service as me for cheaper, and that is why I am inclined to agree that "The whole point of the internet is to get stuff for free." I'm not getting any breaks anywhere else financially, and even though I'm living off my overdraft, my bank keeps charging me for nonsense; so a little bit of free stuff every now and then kind of softens the blow.


Just a note about my last post.

If by any chance I've had any visitors recently (I'm beginning to crack at this point) then the placement of my "Anime and Manga Gallery" may have come across as ill concieved, but as with many other things I do, it will all become clear. It could take years; but it will be made clear in the end. Basicly when I've made enough posts there will be some posts that will work well as standalone posts, and I will link to those posts through various other sources like myspace and various forums. Also Blogger seemed like a pretty good place to host my thumbnails.
As soon as I've made 3 more posts (including this one) they will no longer be in view, but I will have links to them to make them available to anyone who's interested. I plan to add more of my albums to Blogger too. I think my "Album Art / Music General" album is pretty good, and I'll be adding to it all the time. So that will definately have a permanent link to it, and the thumbs of what I have so far (or at the time of posting) will be available here on Blogger.
